Social Programme
We are delighted to offer a comprehensive and varied social program that will introduce the conference participants to the local culture, food and attractions of Trondheim and give ample opportunities for socialization. All of the social events are included in the participation fee except for a small symbolic sum for the conference dinner.
Welcome reception
The welcome reception will take place Sunday 16 June by the Nidarosdomen Cathedral, which is Trondheim’s biggest and most magnificent attraction.
Participants are invited for drinks and light food in the café To Tårn at the visiting center, for later to attend a special reception in the cathedral welcomed by the mayor of Trondheim.
The main feature of the evening is a concert by the girls’ choir of Nidarosdomen and a visiting choir and orchestra from St. Olaf college, US.
Poster session
The poster session is a combined technical and social event which will take place on Monday 17 at the conference venue of the Norwegian University of Science and Technology.
Participants are offered drinks and light food while mingling in the poster area, and entertainment will be provided by the university’s talented student’s choir, Pirum.
Conference dinner
On Tuesday 18, all participants are invited for an exclusive visit to the manor of Ringve and the National Museum of Music and Musical Instruments. After enjoying a small aperitif, the table will be set for a tasteful dinner based on locally grown food. Musical entertainment will be provided during the evening.
The Manor dates back to the 18 century and has an interesting history. It is situated in the outskirts of Trondheim, surrounded by a Botanical Garden and a nice overview of the Trondheim fjord.
